Randy Dietrich

Chief Executive Officer

Randy Dietrich assumed the role of chief executive officer on January 1, 2008. From 2000 through 2007, he served as president as well as a member of the company’s leadership team. As senior vice president from 1988 to 2000, he was responsible for all of the company’s operations. During his 25-year tenure with Republic Financial, Mr. Dietrich has been instrumental in developing and building the company’s divisions and portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Republic Financial, Mr. Dietrich worked as a consultant, specializing in strategic planning and raising capital. His experience includes oil and gas exploration, financial services, and telecommunications. He started his career as a Certified Public Accountant for Coopers and Lybrand.

A founding ambassador of the Hepatitis C Caring Ambassador Program, Mr. Dietrich is a strong advocate for raising public awareness of health issues. The Caring Ambassadors Program encourages individuals with a life changing or life threatening disease to take an active role in managing their health care and in supporting others with similar health issues.

Mr. Dietrich holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. Married in 1984, Mr. Dietrich and his wife, Kim, live in Centennial, Colorado with their three children. He is active in his children’s lives and has coached them in various sports, including basketball, football, soccer, volleyball, and baseball.

Robert Possehl

President

Bob Possehl joined Republic Financial in 1997 as an analyst in the Aviation and Portfolio division and has held various other roles at the company including assistant director, assistant head and vice president of Capital Markets, as well as president of Special Assets, and executive vice president of Special Assets and Portfolio Companies. Since January 2008, Mr. Possehl has been the president of Republic Financial. In his current role, he oversees the Portfolio Companies and Special Assets business divisions. Mr. Possehl has been a member of the leadership team since 2001.

Prior to joining Republic Financial, Mr. Possehl was a financial manager for Vail Resorts, Inc. in Vail, Colorado and worked for NCR’s finance department in San Francisco, California.

Mr. Possehl serves on several of the boards of Republic Financial’s portfolio companies, including Great Lakes Castings, Community Bank Funding Company, and Griffith Enterprises.

Mr. Possehl holds a Bachelor of Science in finance and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Denver. He and his wife, Sarah, live in Denver, Colorado with their three children.

James Possehl

Chairman

James “Jim” Possehl founded Republic Financial in 1971. He recently shifted his management role from full-time CEO to a part-time strategic advisory position. He continues to be actively involved in the day-to-day management of the company and is chairman of the board.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Possehl has been recognized for his strong business foresight and expertise. In 2000, he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the United Association of Equipment Leasing, and in 2005, he was recognized as Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year for the Rocky Mountain Region. In addition to acting as chairman of Republic Financial’s board, he is involved in the community and has served as past chairman of the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association, as well as past president of the United Association of Equipment Leasing.

Under Mr. Possehl’s leadership, Republic Financial was recognized for its growth and success. In the last three years as CEO, The Denver Business Journal and ColoradoBiz listed the company as one of the Largest Privately Held Companies in Denver and as one of the Fastest Growing Denver Area Large Privately Held Companies. In 2007, Republic Financial was honored for its honesty and integrity with Ethics in Business Award by the Colorado Ethics in Business Association.

Mr. Possehl is extensively involved with several charities including Caring Ambassadors, Sewall Child Development Center, and the Karen Possehl Scholarship Fund. He has served as president of several non-profit organizations including Rotary Club, Arapahoe Youth League, Titans Team, and is currently a managing trustee of the Green and White Rugby Trust, which supports the Denver Barbarians Rugby Club.

Originally from Seattle, Washington, Mr. Possehl and his wife, Karen, moved to Denver, Colorado in 1970. They now divide their time between homes in Denver and Scottsdale, Arizona.

Dr. Lawrence Chimerine

Outside Director

Dr. Lawrence Chimerine is president of Radnor International Consulting Inc., in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania, and a partner and member of the Investment Committee of Miller Investment Management, a wealth management firm. He also serves on numerous boards and advisory boards. He is the former chairman, chief executive and chief economist of Chase Econometrics and the WEFA Group.

For more than 30 years as an economic consultant, Dr. Chimerine has lent his advice and counsel to an impressive resume of major Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, and government agencies, providing private consultation on the state of the U.S. and world economics, specific industries and sectors, and the impact of economic conditions on decision making, budgeting, and strategic planning. He is a member of various professional associations and has held teaching positions at three universities.

From 1965 to 1979, Dr. Chimerine was manager of U.S. Economic Research and Forecasting for the IBM Corporation. He left IBM to assume the chairmanship at Chase Econometrics and in 1987 was appointed chairman and CEO of the WEFA Group. During the 1990s, in addition to founding and operating Radnor International Consulting, Dr. Chimerine was managing director and chief economist at the Economic Strategy Institute in Washington, DC.

Dr. Chimerine has earned a valued reputation as a leader in the economic arena. He has served on numerous governmental advisory boards, including the House of Representatives Task Force on International Competitiveness, the Census Advisory Committee, and the Economic Policy Board of the Department of Commerce. He is frequently called upon to testify on key economic issues before congressional committees.

His latest books include, Business Opportunities and Practices in the Far East and The Handbook for Raising Capital. He has published numerous articles in the New York Times, Washington Post, Business Week, and World Policy Journal, and is a frequent speaker at such organizations as the Detroit Economic Club, the Commonwealth Club of California, the World Affairs Council, the Wharton Symposium, the National Association of Business Economists, numerous trade association meetings, as well as to many corporate boards and other groups.

Michael Goldsmith

Outside Director

Mr. Goldsmith is an outside board member of Republic Financial. He is a managing director of the financial consulting practice at BBK in Chicago. Mr. Goldsmith has 30 years of experience in financial restructuring, turnaround management, distressed investments and commercial real estate. Prior to BBK, he was the CEO of Zimmer Custom Made Products Inc., an Indianapolis-based flexible packaging business and turnaround investment. In 1999, Mr. Goldsmith co-founded AEG Partners, a financial advisory and turnaround management firm, where he worked until 2005. From 1988 through 1999, Mr. Goldsmith was a senior executive at Heller Financial (now GE Capital), and prior to Heller, he worked for Continental Illinois Bank (now Bank of America) as a vice president and division manager.

Mr. Goldsmith holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Rochester and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Michigan.  He has been an active member and speaker with the Turnaround Management Association, Urban Land Institute, and the Association for Corporate Growth. He has also authored articles and given presentations for the National Multifamily Housing Council, the American Bankruptcy Institute, New York University’s Annual Real Estate Conference, the University of Southern California School of Business, and Commercial Property News.

Cheryl Lundberg

Director

Cheryl Lundberg is an active entrepreneur with more than 10 years of experience in retail merchandising and operations management.  Ms. Lundberg holds a degree from the University of Denver in communications.  She and her husband John live in Englewood, Colorado with their four children.

Craig Matthews

Outside Director

Craig Matthews became president and chief executive officer of NUI Corporation, an energy services company in February 2004. He was retained to sell the company after it had encountered numerous financial and regulatory problems. After restoring financial integrity, he successfully sold the company and retired in December 2005.

In 2002, Mr. Matthews retired as vice chairman and chief operational officer and a member of the board of Key Span Corp after a 36-year career with the company. He served previously as Key Span’s president and chief operating officer and executive vice president and chief financial officer. He was responsible for the integration of both the Long Island Lighting and Eastern Enterprises mergers, which made Key Span the largest gas distributor in the northeast and the largest generator of electricity in New York.

Mr. Matthews is a director on the board of Hess Corporation and National Fuel Gas. He also serves on the National and Greater New York Advisory Boards of the Salvation Army and is the Chairman of the newly formed New Jersey Advisory Board. He is also the immediate past Chairman and current member of the Board of Polytechnic University.

Harlan Platt

Outside Director

Professor Platt has taught finance at Northeastern University in Boston since 1981. He teaches strategies for companies in crisis and global competition and market dominance.

He was the faculty dean of the Turnaround Management Association from 1993 to 2003. Prior to joining the faculty at Northeastern in 1981, he was the director of electricity research and forecasting for Data Resources, Inc. Dr. Platt is the author of eight books and 45 academic articles. He is also the Chairman of the Board of the John Hancock Collateral Investment Trust.

Dr. Platt holds a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University, and a Master of Arts and doctorate in economics from the University of Michigan.

Jeffrey Possehl

Director

Jeff Possehl has been with Republic Financial since 1995 and currently serves as the vice president of business development. Mr. Possehl brings with him a background in marketing and computer information systems. Additionally, he has experience with all areas within the information technology marketplace (i.e., hardware, software, consulting, and integration) as well as experience in turnaround management. Mr. Possehl received his Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Arizona, and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Denver.

Karen Possehl

Director

Karen Possehl has served on the board of Republic Financial since the company's inception in 1971. Ms. Possehl, along with her husband, is co-chairing the Capital Campaign for Sewall Child Development Center and has served on Sewall's Board for over twenty years.  She serves on the board of trustees for the University of Colorado Foundation as well as the Board of Directors of the foundation. She is a past board member of the Hospice of St. John and the Kempe Children’s Foundation. She is the namesake for the Karen Possehl Women’s Endowment, a scholarship fund supported by Jim and Karen Possehl that provides financial assistance to non-traditional female students attending the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
